Vivien was born in Brazil and she has been cooking since she was a little girl. At an early age she was baking and preparing meals for her family. She says that the kitchen is her sanctuary that’s where she truly lets go, she lets her hands and her mind command what she is doing.
Through out her model career she had the opportunity to travel all over the world, which still has a big influence in her cooking style, which she calls “ Ethnic with a Brazilian twist”, that shows her love for food from all countries but always bringing Latin flavor and flair.
She graduated at Westlake Culinary Institute in 2005 under the guidance of her teacher and mentor chef Cecilia de Castro. She produced two cooking show pilots, “ Passion Cuisine” a cooking show in three languages, Portuguese, Spanish and English in 2004 and “ Vivien Unleashed” a show about cooking and entertaining and life style in 2005.
She works as a private chef, caterer, writer and cooking teacher in Los Angeles where she lives with her husband Walter and her two boys Gavin and Ramsey. In 2007 she was one of the finalist at “The Next Food Network Star” season 3, a reality show on the Food Network. She currently has a food Column at Valley Life magazine and Malibu Chronicle paper.
Her next project is “ Viva la Viv” a TV show to explore and show the Latino Cuisine and life style to American audiences. The show will include traveling to Vivien’s native Brazil and other Latin countries as well.
